View Full Version : Character with displacement maps in 3ds max

I was currently in the process of taking a low poly character model from max into Zbrush, and doing some finer detail to it, as well as painting the texture, and then exporting it as a displacement map and texture. What I had then hoped to do is import them into max, rig the low poly model, and animate it witht he displacement map and texture on it. Is this possible, I told someone and they thought itd have to be done using mental ray? Im not sure how I would do that, Im still not even entirely sure how to export the displacement and textures from zbrush but I found some good guides too. Thanks for any help, I really hope this is a plausable idea.
