View Full Version : Plz. guide me....want to work in 2D before 3D?

Hi
I m studin 2D and 3D animation. And after completion of course i want to work in 3D. but i,ve been listing that to reach at elite position in animation you should,ve experience in 2D.

But some people says it is waste of time as I can get same thing in 3D.

plz guide me I m confused.

it ll b nice if someone havin 2D and 3D BG.

In my opinion, to be a really great animator, you NEED to learn traditional 2D animation. The old 2D artists at Disney literally invented animation as we know it, so I believe that is how you should learn as well. Also, a pencil is much much easier to control than a complex 3D character rig. You can learn and develop the principles of animation more easily with 2d because you are not also trying to learn the software at the same time.

Heck, Pixar doesn't even care if you have any experience at all with 3d animation. They just want good animators.
