Title: Totally Wired
Name: Daniel Kitchener
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Photoshop

This is image is a continuation of a theme from some of the other illustrations I have been producing. It involves the ideas of technology and the way we live, and the way we rely on this technology. I am toying with the idea of a cartoon strip or some form of narrative illustration as the female character and the future city seem to have a lot of potential.

Nice work! I think a cartoon strip would work well in this style. :)

I like the way you work with just a few colours. Stylomatico!

Thanks loads for the positive comments! I think I may start to develop an idea for a cartoon stri or at least multiple images with some kind of narrative, of course I'll post my work in my portfolio!

I think even though your verry minimalistic with collor you have a Great sense of light and shade! Really like your stuff! reminds me a bit about the gorillaz art.
How do you work?
Is it all on the wacom with the photoshop or what?

Hi, thanks for the comments. The way I work involves a fine line pen or HB pencil sketch to start. I usually sketch the image very loosely first of all, then scan the image in. I then use the wacom to block in areas of shadows/black and tidy up the line work. I then colour the image using the wacom. I find that it's by far the best way to colour as it allows you to more naturally follow the contours and lines of your illustration, especially when drawing highlights etc. Photoshop is great for the way your can experiment with colours, as I only use a limited colour pallette I find this invaluable. I think the limiting of colours and choosing a very strong background / main colour combined with strong shadows creates this very graphic look!
