View Full Version : Bump Map in Mental Ray Car Paint

Hello, I'm having some difficulty with the Mental Ray car paint node and despite searching through the forums and reading everything I can find, I still can't figure out a solution. I'm fairly new at this and much of the technical explanations that are given are going right over my head at the moment.

Anyway, here's what I'm trying to do:

I have some very specific lines/indentations that need to appear on the body of a motorcycle that I'm modeling. I would like to bump map these lines rather than try to incorporate them into the geometry. However, there is no bump mapping field in the car paint phenom node. Is there a way to do this?

If there's a tutorial on this out there or if I've missed a thread that explains how this is done, please direct me to it.

Hello there my friend! I have the same problem, but no one seems to know the answer...I v been trying to find out my self, but I hit through a wall!!!
