View Full Version : lambert or blinn?
adrie 07-18-2006, 04:46 AM ok, it seems simple enough.. depending on the model you're making but.. when I try to texture stone or paper texture with lambert, it just seems really dim and needs quite a bit of light to make it show. should I use blinn instead or??
any helps much appreciated! cheers!

Id say that both paper and stone have specularity. Glossy paper even has some reflectivity. Depending on what kind of stone it is, stone also has some reflectivity. If you look closely at stone you can see the little crystals of different kinds of stone. If you should add a reflectiion map or not very much depends on how close the camera will be to the stone.

blinn is just a lambert + a highlight, so if you need specularity just use it.
