I'm using the Renderman plugin for maya, but I can't figure out how you can render with an alpha transparent for compositing. With Maya Software Renderer, I would just render as a PSD, and then delete the background layer in Photoshop. With Renderman, I can render as a TIFF or TGA, but they always come out with a solid-color background, so I can't do any compositing.

Any idea how to do this?

(Also, what is the difference between Renderman and PRRenderman?)

I too have the problem of not being able to figure how to get the transparency in my alphas, if anyone has a solution I would love to hear it. Also is there a good resource for learning how to use renderman for maya.

Thanks
