View Full Version : Gods/Demons - Character - OZ -
OK.....Here again.......every time i create a character,i love to crate a story about it.Huo is it? why he do what he does?Why this,why that??? Now i've more time to work on this challenge,and I have written a novel that I have entitled "THE FLAMING PATH".This help me to imagine the characters and the environment where they live. the tree characters here,are: (left to right) SHEETAAR (goddess of pain and mother of all the wars), BUTASAWA ( saint,serenity,and the spiritual guide of feren-rinr) ,FEREN-RINR (God of fire and justice).They fight 4 nothing,they just fight....................:wip:
Now.....more gods to come...........

Creating background stories for your characters is great . It adds sens to their existence . And you can rely on it to add details .
But right now, their story is a little bit thin ;)
Your sketch is a bit small, but seems great for now on .
And I like the pants of the third one !!
Hem....the full story is about 16 page long!!! the moderators may hit me on the teeth because I bore you with my poor novels!!!!!

OZ MAN! Your sketches are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Especially that third guy with the tiger legs, he's really cool, just one thing, If I can recall right, the challenge rules say that you can only put one god/demon in your scene, and the models shouldn't be textured nor put on an environment. I'm sure that's the rules the last time I read them. Check them out too, make sure you're in the track, and very very good luck to you, lookin grrrrrrreat! cheers!

to Henry: Yes....i know that i have to model one character only.The matter is that Feren-rinr and butasawa (see picture) is two faces of the same medal (think about the tao).So is just one character composed by two different parts. I show it separately just for clearance.The character excluded from modeling is the female one............If the moderators think that the "two in one" character does not respect the challenge guidelines,i provide to put away one of them.

i like your ideas...
i never heard about god with spiritual guide. Traditionnally, gods are powerfull and don't need spiritual guides. Those are for humans which are weak and unwise.. :)
i found your idea quite original and i hope that BUTASAWA is not the justice part of the "god of fire and justice".
as i thought about your three characters and your ideas about FEREN-RINR and BUTASAWA (two faces of the same medals), i got an idea... in some other mythology, we found 3 main entity - one for the good, one for the evil and one for the balance...
as there is a fight between good and evil, there is a balance which make it eternal.
so, i don't wanna make you turn BUTASAWA to the role of the balance but as soon as you have also an eternal fight, you could think that the fight is some kind of soul for the 2(3) fighters.. and as they shared the same soul, they can be the same character...
in other words, if you wanna modelized all three entities, you can.. :)

OZ that spiritual guide idea is GREAT man! I love it! I don't think that's against the rules so go ahead and DO ART! :) Besides, if it IS against the rules, some mod will see this post and say something so no worries there :)

no time to answer you my friends!!!! so sorry.....Ill 'do it ! iza a paomise;) ........just a little update. After the lunch i usually take an hour to work on FEREN-RINR....today im working on the belt.
The belt is a simboloic mid point into the feren-rinr holiness balance. On the belt are attached different objects that are a testimony of his life! 4 exaple......the five suffering faces fixed on the belt,are the five furies beaten by fren-rinr during the nowhere god wars (the sparkes been born from the godswords klash is the star in the sky and the dust create the planets.....the origin of universe by oz explained in "THE FLAMING PATH"!!!:D )......As price for his victory he takes the souls of the five fury and take it with him.....they are all five still alive and always cry for their defeat!....

TO NEOX:....not exactly....i face every work in a different way.....i start from a low poly mesh but only 4 a very starting stage.....then i smooth all the model a first time.....all the details are modeled at this point of the work...then i smooth only the parts i think needs it.At last i add the thin details on the hi poly mesh working directly on the vertexes and the edges. The detail showed in the pics i have just posted is the 2nd step of tesselation.;) ....

Love the model! It was interesting to see another method of modeling here and it contributes greatly to your unique style. much more like the lines in a sketch.
Maybe his abs could be toned down a little where they meet the pecs ? (more like the drawing) I like the whole proportion much better than the drawing though!
Cannot wait to see him posed!(and detailed :D)

I like the feet. They have nice a nice sort of character to them. Im not sure what it is, but the chest is bothering me a little bit. I think it may be the ab muscles or the pecks. Not sure. If you define his collar bone a little more, it may help out.
The belt is outstanding. The little details of the faces on the belt is a really great touch. The rings are great too. Very nice. Gets better and better each update.

Some update....Sorry,but Im a novice on Max....and the organic modeling takes me a lot of time.....im not so fast as someone believed.....:o
I put my attention on Feren-Rinr feet....now more balanced....and a lot of dress stuff,weapons,armour...ecc.....more details soon.

nooo OZ! plz don't use the blue color you have there! try something else. it dosen't fit a master piece like this IMO. maybe try to use just a slightly tinted color, maybe a more "human" color? but not the blue you have now. just my little opinion, don't wan't you to waste a model like this with that blue, but, do what feels best for you, this is ONLY my opinion others might think it looks good.
I think the previous renders have a much more comfortable and cooler mood\color to present your model with.

the rest is good, expecially the left arm. *mmm*, it's wonderful! might be that the red on some parts are to strong but it's nothing really...
but don't concentrate on making it look good for others (as me :) ), make it so that you feel satisfied with it yourself and it will be great! (although it's ofcourse good to get crits from ppl outside sometimes)

btw, sometimes it's actually better to show of a model with no colors. for an example. the render on the previous page where you wrote (FEREN + BUTASAWA) before attaching the image is one of the best I've seen!
but enough said, this is just my little opinion. there are ofcourse ppl who will like the model alot with the blue color instead of the one's I would wanna see.
but if you like the blue, go for it! you'll make a big success on the voting anyhow.

I'm guessing it's probly particles(duh..) but just
wondering what techniques.(also dont kno wut software u use).
Some of your stuff looks a bit too "poly jaggy" though,
maybe more iterations are needed in certain parts?
great details in the final model btw.
