Hi All

working on the wings area but not getting a proper deformation there.Got something satisfactory results with skin morph but looking for a better control without using a bone for muscle simulation..need some ideas on this....file attached...

No file was attach, but I think skin morph will be one the better solution. Sometime it just takes too long to fine tune everything with in the skin modifier itself.

Okay, with the bones you have set, you don't have enough bone. You need to have some muscle bones inorder to have porper deformation. Like the shoulder, most of the time, I will have 5 or 6 joints connecting to it, like two from the chest to the shoulder, one from the lower wing to the shoulder...etc. And it will be good to have upper arm twist bone set up to get better shoulder deformation. Go and check out Paulneale.com to see how he set up his rig. Also, if you are using max8, check out the maxine character.
