well here is a new character I'm making. Anout 6 hours of work so far. Im going for an anger painful somewhat stylized yell,
What do you think?

Adventually (the next 3 weeks) the body will be built. I plan to have him vined to a tree. His body will be half human and half vines and branched. The tree will be engulfing his body:thumbsup:

Anyways I would love some crits

the chin is a little to blocky isn't it?

waw, good modelling. About the chin, i'll try making it some bigger and "divided" into 2 parts, maybe that way it appears as more bonny.

Well here is a little update. The head is completed (not textured). If anyone is intrested I can post a wireframe or a different view.

:wip:
Please oh please give me some crits.

Looks pretty good, I especially like the eyes.

I think that possibly the top lip needs more volume and mass, but looks great!

yeah I agree about the top lip. I think it just needs that sharper crisp edge to define it better.

If the mouth's open that far, the chin will be pulled further back along the Z-axis. Good stuff otherwise, keep it up

Looking good, the second pic reminds me of robin williams in bicentenial man. Make sure you add veins on the face, and maybe roll the eyes a bit back into the head. That will emphisise agony and pain.

Thanks sasquatch for the advice. You are one of the best face (and all around) modelers that I have ever seen so it is really great to hear some positive feedback from you. You are right about the chin. I pulled it back some and it really helped get rid of the overbite look that he had. I will post a new picture once I get a little more done.

Thanks Zero_Gunner also for the comments. I didn't realize it but he does look a lot like Robin Williams. I didn't use any refrences on this guy so far (trying to produce a chacter straight from memory. I plan on adding veins to the whole body after I get all of the main features worked out. Oh and I tryied rolling the eyes back in the head. It makes him lookl like he is on the edge of going unconcious. I'm not sure if that is what I want or not yet. But he does look a lot better when I tilt his head up toward the sky, kinda a scream toward heaven type thing.

Anyway thanks for the comments!

I proubably will update him either later today or tomorrow.

:wip:
Keep the comments coming:wavey:

model is cool... make the lips more taught/tight.... they look quite relaxed in that oval shape

oh and more strain wrinkles around the eyes.. probs in the corner.... and perhaps narrow his eyes a bit more.

hangon... is he screaming or yelling? and is it in fear pain or anger? i guess fear and pain would look the same.

With fear the mouth is more like he has, but with pain it's usualy best to show gritted teach, or straining in the face. Anger has the eyebrow thing going.

hey Adam this is looking good. You get better and better on each new model you start! I'm interested in seeing the entire head to see all the proportions. The eyes look great, one thing that catches my eye is the out corners of the eye are too high compared to the inner corners. Also, like sasquach was saying about the chin being set back more. I usually just grab the bottom jaw and rotate it in a bit . Great work man, keep it up!:) :)

Could we see more light on that ear?

Krugar: Thanks for the reply. I tightened up the lips a little bit. I think they need more. Oh and he is in fear (fear of pain) and sadness. For this reason I will leave out the wrinkles near the eyes. I associate that with pain and clenching. Thanks so much for the speedy reply

Zero_Gunner: thanks also for the crit. Yeah it is more of a fear face. You are right that if I wanted more fear I would need to clenc the eyes closer and close up the mouth.

Tubby: Thanks for the comment it is great to hear from fellow students. I hear you recently got a job! That really great! Also you have great attention to detail so I would like to hear about what you think about the whole head proportions. Oh and I moved the corners of the eyes down. They may need a bit more. Tell me what you think.

Nervous Twitch: Well tell me what you think of the ear in this pic. Its a little easier to see:thumbsup:. It is not my best ear but It will have to do. It a little quick and it doesn't connect to the head very well

Ok ay well hear is the update
I fixed the chin lowered the eyes and added all of the neck area. I would especial;ly like some thoughts on the new areas (such as the neck)

Anyway keep them coming. Today I plan on doing most of the cheast. I will hopefully post an update later today

hey Adam, the head proportions look pretty good, here is a butchered version of your image, I did a few tweeks to see if I could help you out but they arent necessarily correct, just changed to see what might look better, or worse. I made the jaw a little smaller, and trimmed it on the area closer to the ear and tried to push it in more, I bumped out his eyebrow a little more, moved his ear foreward and trimmed the area a little in the area behind his ear. the eyes look much better.yeah i think i got the job, still need to work out the details, but I ain't gonna say I got it until im in there working. Thanks for the nice words man!:)

Hi again Adam.

That face is looking better and better  The only crit I have at the moment is with the distance from the lip to the bottom of the chin; the curve of the lip suggests he's covering his bottom teeth with his lower lip, but there's not enough space for them if the chin is that close to the lip (y-axis). Get some teeth in there and you'll see what I mean.

Otherwise, ace. Keep up the good work :D
