looks cool...
but it could use more than two colors.
for shadows, maybe some dark blues or purples.... for highlights
faded yellow or blue...
I'm no expert though .... just suggestions.:)
good start though:thumbsup:

You've got some good shading going on, especially in the shoulder area. For some reason, in the colored version, the linework has become thicker and more pixelated...I don't know if that was intentional, but I don't really think it's doing anything good for your coloring. I'm also not thrilled with that blurry back leg, especially where it connects at the hip. I think you could add a few more highlights throughout, as well.
Overall it's pretty good though:thumbsup:

Not too shabby for a photoshop first. But yeah, work on better highlights, most likely yellow or white on a metal surface. That also depends on what your light source is.
That blurred stuff looks bad. I dont reccomend doing that. For the back leg, just block it in with a solid color and perhaps some add some subtle darker areas. I don't know if thats a motion blur or smoke coming from the gun, but it looks cheesy.
Overall, you did well, but yeah, keep practicing and you'll get better. Don't think that filter madness will make a pic better. Concentrate on colors and definition before you dabble with effects.
Hope that helps. Laters.

thanks everyone.. great critiques (which is hard to get anywhere else)
I will try to print out a copy, then draw in the second leg and scan or at least do as Creepstown said and do a solid colour with highlights.. also I checked out those tutorials and will try some of those techniques out :)
thanks alot.

the blurry leg is very distracting.
other than that the colouring is quite good.
