Hello All,

I have always used box modelling, but after coming across a excellent "head" tutorial at http://www.evil-plan.com/HT.html I thought I would give point modelling a try.

The tut is for lightwave, but the illustrations and text are great - however, I quickly ran into problems as their doesnt seem to be a C4D equivelent to the Pen Tool mentioned, and I have noticed strange crap happening when saving and re-opening files I have tried point modelling with. (the points completely go nuts and rearange themselves).

Basically, I want to know the best way of attempting point modelling in C4D?

Please, please help!

There's a great tutorial on Creative Cow

http://www.creativecow.net/index.php?forumid=19

check in Jannis Labelle profile "Modeling a Head in Cinema 4D"

He uses the "Edge Extrude Pro" plugin but with version 8 you can do without it...

best point modelling tute for heads would probably be in "Inside Lightwave 7" by Dan Ablan, published by New Riders. Very good tutorial and great book, although it's specifically for lightwave most of what's in there translates to other packages well.
