Don't feel bad if BodyPaint's UV unwrapping workflow isn't obvious at first. I could never figure it out either. But a tutorial or two put me right. It's worth learning because it's powerful stuff

Now ..
how to:
paint on a material?
ahh ahhh wait wait .....
So I have an object
Object is UV Mapped
I have a material on that object that I like (procedural material)
I just want to paint on top of it, I want to keep the exct color which is the result of a noise+fusion.
This material has no texture to paint on. If I create a texture by double clicking in the material manager (BP 3D Paint view) I set the size .... .... I loose the color info I want to keep. I don't want that.
I want to paint on top of the fusion+noise.
If I create another layer on top of the noise/fusion layers I am still not able to paint on it.
???
how not to loose the material? and also to change the texture size of such material (now squared, while I want a flat rectangle?)
Use the layer shader to add another texture and use an alpha for the texture so only the parts you painted are overlayed.
Cheers
