Hi,
I am trying to make very short fur like a sample picture, using with Maya fur and/or shave&hair cut..

When I render a part of short fur, I can see-through a geometry on the top of fur, and it looks so fake.
I think a solution is to add a huge amount of hair count to hide the geometry and/or to blend fur and geometry to erase a gap.
However, so, far, I cannot make it very well because the enormous counts take very long rendering time, and the geometry and fur result different shading in lights respect.
Then, I am wondering if anyone can teach me some tips and techniques.
Thanks.
