I am on a tight deadline. I have created a UV Texture Map for a building in Bodypaint. Saved the texture as a .tif file. I then opened Illustrator and placed the UV Texture map , then added colors and exported the UV texture map as a .tif file.

Everything was working fine . The changes I made to the texture were being updated in Cinema 4D (on the building model)

Now the Problem: Then I quit Cinema 4D and when I reopened Cinema 4D and loaded the modela and applied the same texture to the model the texture was all out of proportion, smaller and a mess. I know the UV Texture i made in Bodpaint worked because i saw it on the model, but Why? would it not work later.

I thought as long as you made a UV map in Bodypaint that the UV map (texture) was a material and was not tied directly to body paint od Cinema 4D.

I guess I'm just confused. Did I maybe not save the UV properly in Bodypaint? After I outlined the polygons I just went "save texture as" is this not the correct procedure?

I hope this is a simple mistake.

Maybe you accidentally changed your mapping style? Cubic, spherical, etc? Or tileing is on?

Just guessing...

I don't have BP, so, no help there,
but, have you tried duping the elements to a new scene
one at a time?

Did you map using the cubic or UV?
Did you click on the tex and use the pull down for "fit object"?
I always use PDF or jpg for tex.
Try saving the tex as another format.

Maybe it'll help

Thanks all, I am looking into all of these possibilities and will get back to you, hopefully with a solution.

I am using Box Projection (UV mapping > Projection > Box) for the mapping of the building. I chose Box Projection as it seemed to keep the UV's aligned and all in one piece, but I don't know if this is part of my problem. I reloaded the building model and tried mapping the material to it using Cubic, UVW, all of them and it still doesn't work.

Can you use box projection and create a proper UV map from it?

Just a guess: you may have encountered the same problem I did: I forgot to save in Cinema. When you create an UVmap, you need to store it in the c4d file, if not it gets lost.

Now it sounds like two different methods. Are you using UV mapping or camera mapping?
