Is there a way to put info text in of current date, file name, etc on a final rendered image. Would update anytime project file is used. If not is there a script or plugin which can do this?

Do a search at AEnhancers.com .Usikng the Date() functions has been discussed there recently.

Scroll down to the "Scene Date and Time Overlay". This is an expression I worked on for, more or less, the type of thing you are looking for.
