i have a little problem i saved a file in maya 7 and need to open it in maya 6 is there anyway to do this?

Save your file as a .ma file, the open it in note pad and in the first couple of lines where it says "requires Maya 7.0" change it to 6.0... there should be 3 or 4 places that you'll have to change the numbers. there may be errors but it should work.

do a search on cg talk... i'm sure it's been asked before.
