View Full Version : rigging popcorn...
animator1313 07-11-2006, 09:27 PM I'm rigging a cup of popcorn and I'd like to have the popcorn be able to bounce/jiggle in the cup as he walk or whatever. I'd also like it to be controlled by a single controller, so it doesnt get too complicated, but still gives an animator some overlap and followthrough to work with. The popcorn will also need to be able to fall out of the cop and be left behind.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Particles? I wouldn't let the animator do too much with that, unless you need to.

Wouldn t calll it rigging but this sounds like the ideal job for rigid bodies / dynamics simulation, at least if you don t need to loop it later on....
Advantage is the animator doesn t spend any time on the popcorn itself and teh motion comes from the character itself as it would be in reality, but keep in mind that the results of the simulation are sort of difficult to controll....
