Hi!

We are currently looking into setting up a network rendering farm at my school (100+ computers). I have two questions:

1. Will we need 100 licenses of Maya? (Errr... too expensive!)
Or can we actually just setup some kind of network rendering software on all these computers?

2. Which software(s) would YOU recommend?

Any help is very much appreaciated!

please check old postings.. we had these questions a lot..

and no: you wont have to buy a licenese for all render computers..
one valid maya license servers 999 render licenses (someone once said, that 4.5 does not need a render license anymore.. but i dont believe that :)

cheers

Hiya,

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if it's possible to do without Maya's render license? ...Or is that required on every computer in the farm?

Yeah I read in past posts about Smedge and Muster. However... Muster is out in a new version (3.1) ... anyone have any experience of this?
