Hi all

Usually i stick to 3d work but ive taken a shine to painting lately. I love the concept art i see on forums especially landscape/environment art. Hoping to being able to paint ladscapes/environments like the pros someday i thought i would give painting ago. Ive started this thread to share what i will be doing and hopefully get some crits on my work. Any suggestions on how to do things better would be great.

I think the sky is the most important aspect of a landscape. With out it we dont know how to light the scene so im going to start off by getting some photos of skys and paint away. Here is my 1st attempt.

I havnt tried to match the reference exactly so can develope the skill of being able to paint my own skies. Im trying to study aspects of the sky what colours to use and why.
I mostly used a standard soft brush with opacity set to pen pressure.
I would like to know what brushes and settings any of you would use to paint clouds so i can try new methods as i go along.
please crit

Ive learnt alot from artists on this forum and wanted to put it to practice. The feature arnt very good i should have worked in layers lol. Any ideas how i could improve?
