pond,

Welcome aboard! :)

My last post before heading out the door. Look forward to seeing more work from you. It would be nice if you could tell us a little about your art training and background. :)

Cheers,

Yo pond! Nice start you have there!

Pretty nice to see bold and confident strokes! Next step I'd suggest is to try some line weight

I guess it'll add more life and interest to your drawings!

Press on! =D

hi rebeccak, thanx for the welcome and such a fast post lol! the art i have done in the past has just been some school stuff. im about to start a graphic design (illustration) course at university this september/october. i still have much to learn in the way of drawing, and i would like to try painting in photoshop soon. some peoples work in photoshop just blows me away!! i dont have a graphics tablet though, so dont know how easy it is to use the mouse. but its all learning and development :) thats why im here :D

thankyou bnn :) its clear i dont type fast enough lol! but what exactly do you mean by "line weight"?

BNN

Ummm...

It's like a varying thickness in a single stroke?

It's like... A caligraphy stroke that is full of life and energy?

For example at areas that are in contact with light, the weight can be lighter
At areas that are under shadow, the weight can be heavier.

Pardon me for my very... Dull description =x

But to me that's about it!

its my first time using biro in that way, so if anyone has any tips on using biro (particularly shading with biro) it will help a lot. also crits are very welcome :) thanx
