I am just putting a document together for my next project at work and need to show a rendering style that I have seen C4D do very well. The Style is a ILLUSTRATED STYLE. Do you guys know of any pics that i can look at. I did not find anything at the maxon site or the LaCreme gallery.

Obviously these are only for reference and will not be used in any form other than for showing a style.

Thanks in advance

not quite, but close. I got a mixture of blue print diagrams and renders of objects like cellphones and bikes. Thanks though.

Now you've got me curious...

What style are you talking about? Can you post some pics?

Do you mean traditional illustration? Using 3d as a starting point then Working into it with photoshop?
I do this kind of thing all the time

joel: i do some architectural graphics and I've tried to get an illustrated effect in photoshop with sketch filter and all the others but it looked really ordinary, could you give me some pointers?

thanks,
mike

Have you seen these apps?:

Other wise--I might try Painter over photoshop.
Havent really done this kind of thing (archetecural ill.) myself in particular.

That's kind of rude, FX...

What "illustrative" style are you talking about? Where did you find it?

I think Painter is better than Photoshop at doing natural media effects.

Right here are two pics I found that sort of get what I wanted. The box thing was from the maxon site. I ended up not using the illustation style for this piece, it was a typical 'inside the computer with lots of lights and electronic references' style.

The style I was looking for was almost like the 70's when the airbrush was big and people tried to create realistic pictures. We thought it was really realistic then, but when you look back it has a unique style. So there is a flatness and uniformity to the look. C4d is actually really great for getting a 'technical drawing' type style out of it.

ah, but that's all guache and hand painted rather than airbrushed :) i know some artists who work like that, crazy detail, but then illustrations need that kinda detail.

my favourite era for illustrations and design is the 50's and early 60's, typified by the great exhibition in london... and of course "the atom"! lol. hehe the era of science... in the kitchen of the future... and when they all thought we'd be flying around in rocket cars by now! but aside from teh really cheesy commercial work, there was so much innovation going on with graphic design then, the crossover from the american abstract expressioninsts, the influences of all of that stuff...

anyhow, show us the render so we can see you achieving this style :)

Right here are the pics I belately promised. I have posted them on the Finished work section. Oh by the way this was done in MAX, not C4d, as my work is not enlightened yet?
