View Full Version : Sith Lord
Gaboon 07-10-2006, 07:01 PM This is an older character of mine that I wanted to paint. I pictured him from a more ancient era of Sith. I am pretty happy with it, but I am not satisfied with it yet. I don't know if it is the lighting, the pose, the composition or something else that doesn't seem right, but I am hoping that you guys might be able to give some good crits for me to imprive it. Thanks.

Terrific design! And i like the color scheme, very minimal yet effective. :)
I feel though that some of the orange markings on his clothing might be a little too bright in some places, particularly on the lower part, i think it should blend some more.
Composition wise, i guess that i'd suggest you to blend the bottom of his skirt (for a lack of better english word to use to talk about it) and cloak with the background, the empty and very rectangular space at the bottom is somewhat distracting. Or maybe adding a similar framing to all sides? iI think that you should also add more space at the top to have a full view of his light saber.

I think that was exactly what I needed. I made the modifications and I feel that it really improved it. Thanks!
