Hey guys, I made some cans.
Took me 2 hours to make, it got 108 tris and a 512x512 texture map but I think i could make the texturemap even smaller.
Thanks for looking, C&c as always welcome.

These aren't really working for me - rather than printed aluminum, they look more like sandstone with puffy paint or frosting :P the details themselves are very nice, they just don't seem to suit your object very well. The lack of detail on the top around the hole there is conspicuous too - little details like instructions, or an extra bevel around the edge maybe, or maybe a little nub where the tab used to connect, etc. Also, 512x512 is basically preposterous level of overkill for a game prop that is about 3-4" tall! 128x128 should be more than enough for the vast majority of game scenarios (unless it is Energy Drink Super Closeup Game 2000)!

On a more serious note;
what he said is very true.
unless they're going to be seen from very short distance, I'd make the the textures much smaller.
And if it's supposed to be seen up close, I'd add some more sides to 'em and model that opener thingamajig too.

XD ... yeha ... ok, of course you are both right I will put the texture size down ...

It was more a "how fast can I make a littel cute can" thingy so its not very detailed at all.

Energy Drink Super Closeup Game 2000 --- hey isnt that a cool new game idea ;) I already got the model. (any Programmers?) :scream:

is that a bump map i see? i advise you to remove it if it is, first mistake is to make everything bumpy - its a label and therefore its flat :)
and the above comments ^

also maybe lay off the fancy lighting and do 100% self illumination so we can see it perfectly until its finished then do the nice lighting.

hey much better! huge improvement! I think the label could be a little bit more flat even, but you're much closer to the mark now. especially with this next gen stuff, a little subtle shading can go a LONG ways. good work!
