Hi Everyone,

I'll start here my first animation WIP in CGSociety Forum I don't want to make any limits for my animation, or give it any rules unless i go ahead to its finish, I will give my animation special emotional feels and try to make it a good piece of art with professional 3D work as i can, I'll give you a good explanation for this short film and i'll try to avoid mistakes where i'll see your comments and critiques will make a big help to do so, please come to this thread always and drop in something.
Now i have to give some steps to show what is going on in this thread:

1- The story as usuall will be the first thing to go with.
2- The WIP (Sketches, Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, effects and rendering)
3- the shorts will be edited using professional editing program.
4- Language will be arabic and a translation will be english.
5- final short film will be posted for download.


This won't be a tutorial so i'm not going to explain what and how for the society unless someone asks for a professional thing that wonders him, or sometimes a thing that disturbs.
The WIP titles will be with Yellow color and samples with videos will be using Cyan the Final Short will take the Green color.

one is helpless and the other is stong and big, the two are humans and the first is
a young boy with a fighting skills the other is a giant and evil monster, they are
in a condition that gives the glory to one of them,there is a moment where they are

The 3d-shots look really nice. (The difference between your drawingskills and 3d-skills is enormous. ;) But those 3D shots are incredibly nice, yeah.) Nice to see the influences of Saudi-Arabia in the architecture you're modeling.

That architecture is sexy man! :thumbsup: You're going to have a hard time making the animation as good as the modeling. :bounce:

Yeah ! you actually right, but that is not the most difficult issue though, the textures and completing the modeling and rigging will be mostly the biggest part.

Well, if you're making this for an animation reel you'd better spend more time doing the animation than the modeling. And even then, having great gfx and bad animation will make it less life-like than mediocre gfx and great animation.

Swwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! O man i love your modeling, it looks really clean and crisp. I can see you have alot of experience under your belt and was jsut wondering if you could take the time to explain to me some of your texturing tips and lighting and stuff. I would like to see if maybe i could get some shots like that for my animation that im doing. Its call Robotics under the WIP Animation Thread, if you get time to check it out. I'm near done modeling but a little worrid about the texturing and lighting part, i havent had much practice and time to learn techniques about them. I'm using Maya 8.0 to do my modeling and everything and thats what i work with. I;m not completely sure what you are using but it looks nice though. Thanks in advance for any help!!!:thumbsup:

P.S. i'll be watching this thread until its done:bounce: !!!

i don`t think a storyboard is enough to have a clear control on the short.. before starting modeling why don`t you make a little animatic or a movieboard to pre visualize the story, its rhytms and how it works? (better with a rough soundtrack).

I created a dummy to visualize the size of my tiger don't worry it will be bigger than the gap between bars, here is a door for the cage:

I've been working on the tiger for a while and i faced too many problems doing the right things, now that i finished the model i will add two images here one as clay render and the second is with a primary texture that will be redone and fixed to look better, the biggest problem i faced was the hairs and furs that took my whole system's memory and didn't give right results i'm now searching for the right solution to creat realistic hairs for my tiger here are some renders:

hey wassup man, i like the look of the tiger and yea the texture fix was a major plus. The only thing i think u might want to look into before rigging it would be proportations, its neck its a bit long compated to the body and i think what might work is a bit off the neck and mor on the stomach. One thing i always notice with a tiger or a lion when i have gone to a zoo is how big and heavy there stomachs are and how long they look, makes my want to touch one to see how it would feel but then again i like my arms and legs and my life so i keep on watching 200 yards away :thumbsup: ...keep up the work man, coming along good!

wow man that looks really really nice, only thing i would suggest is a bit less black and lots more orange or the tiger color feel especially on the body and maybe even on the face....keep it up

dude i think ur works great and coming along pretty damned nicely. the tiger is looking better and better esp after the texture and fur. But i would suggest looking at refrences online again esp in regards to the face....i think the nose is too concaved and fall of is too smooth. I could be wrong...im not an animal expert but yeah just check it out online for references. I think ur on the right track...a small tweak and it would be FANtastic. love the detail in the architecture btw

hey guys how can i fix the model hairs and animate my character this is the last thing i have to do before my tiger be ready to act when i do a head rotation for example the model hairs are not connected to the mesh so the hairs get messy? :)

Next I will start playing around with the moon and clouds and test some backgrounds, i'm sorry for the slow WIP i'm busy with some other stuffs, i'm also searching for some reference pictures for characters and animations, my demon character style will be something like this picture with another characteristics:

Looks great man, but i think you should make the tree a bit stiffer, just from my point of view. I live in Florida and trees are like all around my house so when im rendering and bored i look outside and unless theres a real bad storm or hurrican they barely move that much more the branches then the trunk area, instead the trunck area moves very very slow from side to side.

P.S. is the flicker in the end of the movie from the video file or from the render???

Yeah it is from vedio compression only and there will be huge trees around too, don't worry the final movie will be DVD quality,
I played around a little bit with the values of the clouds and get this better render not much though:

bro it looks so much better and to tell u the truth looks good enough, i mean when u drop that moon back into it, everything should fall back into place since you get that type of glow and surface scattering when moon light shines throw clouds, looks good here but if you feel needs to be better by all means. Keep up the good work

looks good man, few suggestions though, first, dont blur ur logo sooo much at the beginning, i know you trying to give the feel of fast but all i see is blut not fast, try to find the perfect mid blur for what ur working with. Second when your logo is coming back around i dont think its a good idea to have it flip over itself before it comes to the front, you loose direction and feel of movement like that, what i think could work but im not all that sure is that if you was to take a quarter and roll it on its side and let it curve and come to a stop u would get the idea, have it complete turn back to the front position. And the last two are concerning the end, more spin, more smoke and as it does all the more (which should be a bit longer) have the logo appear before it completely stops, it should completely show by the time your logo does its final shineat the end, u might want to add the same effect to ur FlaminGlow at the end to give it some unity. I tihnk thats about the sum of it and sorry if i ripped the mess out of it but I;m in a composting class this semester and our mid-term was to design our own personal movie logo for any of our work and lets just say i did 4 different versions of my logo just to get a good appealing logo and at the same time professional. So best of luck bro:thumbsup: !

Hey flaminglow. it looks excellent. render quality is good. the model is good and the animation is snazzy. But punisher pointed out some excellent pt. i just wanted to add one more thing....but its a personal opinion.

Perhaps it would be better if at the point where it stopped moving...u had the rotating animation ease too a stop...like 6-8 frames more after the blur clears. I think it would be better that way cause then the animation and the logo would feel more connected...right now its like an animation and then a still image. get what im saying? but im just really being picky. i love it though :)

keep up the great work. I think you, punisher and my team are all working hard on our projects...see you guys on the forums...ill be posting stuff on my side shortly. cheers dude

The smoke at the end looks pretty good.

I find the rotation of the outer part a bit strange.
I mean I expect that to rotate and the part in the middle stay still.

Just my 2 cents.

bro what happen.... I like the new updates and everything but the spin is totally killing, like BOY1DA was saying, stick with the outside spinning and you can probably even leave the middle not spinning or spin that too but what you have right now looks weird, and if you like a net little idea, lets say the center doesnt move right while its spinning, when it comes to a stop the center can start to spin do to the recoil of the sudden stop and as it starts to stop the smoke appears around it showing that its try to stop and its hot, as for te flaminglow its perfect i like that, let us know what you think.....later

thanks friends, O.K any other suggestions or new animation ideas, i was mistaken when i did the rotation goes from 10000 to 0, it was almost 50 digree each frame wich makes it look stopping on some places due to the rounded shape 45 digree each fan part, the FG rotates because it is linked to that outer part.
i will test new animation idea this is realy great.:)

I'm thinking of changing the placements of some elements in the scene the water pond looks so close to the outer wall and to put the cage in the desired position i've got this result, i will fix locations and try to adjust elements after that i will start texturing archeticts, i know you are thirsty to see the other characters, i will continue and i have some more plans for this project:

O.K after my logo the film introduction will begin i created a quick scene to show my idea only the last version will look much much better, this scene idea contains a closed dome-like room, this room has windows and the windows are the only place where the scene will be lighten -if the word fits-, the light will come from the window holes and will be volumetric not just a light and this volume will has lot of little dust and atoms flying around, the camera will take close shots to this light and will has big effect to the introduction magic texts, there will be more ideas in the same film here is a pictures for the dome room (the volume in the room was created with photoshop not the final) and a volume test.

very nice work bro. i like your archetectures alot i think if you make the textures as you did with the models and light them very well you will rock, and i think your tiger will look better with hairs.

Hello everyone, I'm planning of a new archetecture designs for this project a place that this film will take place in it before the duel starts, i'm planning to do a conversation between the good character and another guy -an old man for example or an old women-, there will be also a sketches and models.:)

yeah that's a little work though, i'm planning also for an opened area a river or sea and some old archetects near it, the whole work will be bigger and the WIP -next month i hope- will go faster, it is a matter of story i'm trying to make it more convincing and dramatic.:)

To the STORY
Hi, the story is almost done i have now a good look to it, The first show will be a general look to a river near the village where an old man were forced by an evil to go to a small ship or boat and the good character is swimming to go to the shore and climb it to the nearest wall, he hides himself behind it waiting for the good moment to hit the evil and rescue the old man, another shot at the previous architecture design and the conversation.

the conversation will give you a door to the duel and to what is going on, the final duel will also have speach and the film is almost done like that.

I don't want you to wait long time for this animation but unfortunately i have to, also i got to give it lot of time to be as i planned.

Thanks Animals, in this few images i'm using VRay but the whole seen may use another renderers, here is a quick test to the trees behind castle just to give myself a small push to carry on.

Hi friends:
I've been working on the introduction of the film lately i'm now rendering frames and will be finished in few days from it i also was searching for good musics in the market the best i found is YANNI it always amaze me so i choosed two tracks for my film:
1- DESIRE
2- BUTTERFLY DANCE.
those will affect the mood of the work shorts.

Dude, what are u talking about, u mean to say that since no one is looking at ur posts or responding and cause ur busy ur jsut gonna pass up a great piece work. Come dude I been with u for quite some times now and I been through the motions as well with my WIP but that didnt make me stop from finishing my work....I hope this aint the end and if so I wish u the best man....later!

Thanks, it was wonderfull work i realy want to finish it but i'm not finding the time to do that, and whenever i start to do something i get busy whith another job which's got more priority to be done.
