Although the implementations of mental ray seem to varry between Maya XSI and MAX, Im hoping to find someone who can answer how to set up a specific material type.
Im trying to create an MR material, which is glass, that has an internal fog, and casts a shadow based on the glass and the occlusion the fog creates when light passes through it. Essentialy, I should end up with a reflective/refractive object, with a colored interior that gets denser the thicker it gets, and casts a shadow that reflects the properties of that material.
In max, We have a base mentalray material where you can place in what kind of material you want for the diffuse surface, and shadow, then photons, volume, etc. I would just like to know what combination if any produce this effect.
