View Full Version : deformation problem with wrap deformer!

as you can see in the pictures here, my highPoly mesh gets some strange deformation when I rotate the elbow. I used wrap deformer so the lowpoly model drives the Highpoly. I also used cgTkShapeBuilder to get some muscle deformation on the lowPoly, do you think that it can be the reason why this happens?

Thanks!/jimmy

Did you apply Maya Smooth Poly on your model? If so, I think that's the prob.

Try deleting Non-deformer history on your lower poly (therefore keeping the skin), then apply the Smooth Poly again.

Hope this helps

yeah I did apply smooth to it, but I deleted the histoy after that!

You probably used the point influence type for your wrap. You can get around by setting weight treshold something near 0 in your wrap's attribute.

It happens because the vertices of the high poly are "hard skinned" to the vertices of the wraper object using point influence and weight treshold 1.
