I;ve been searching around online....I've visited Highend3D...Alias's site....the PaintFX Brush exchange...etc..

either no one makes them... or I've just not found the mackdaddy site yet...

or, if it's not a total pain to make brushes....a link to making them might not be too bad..

thanks in advance!!

Brushes are pretty easy to make. One can simply try blending different presets together(right mouse in visor allows you to blend in parts of different presets, sort of dipping your brush in different colors ). To save a preset select paintEffects->save preset( drag around a region in the paint effects panel to create an icon ). For better feedback when editing brush shape parameters, paint a stroke in your scene, close the paint effects panel, set the stroke display quality to 100 then edit the stroke's brush( most of the shape attributes are in the "tube" block ). You should be able to see your shape update as you drag the sliders in the attribute editor. When done do
"paintEffects->getSettingsFromSelectedStroke"
and then
"paintEffects->savePreset".
For fast feedback on shading and tube widths you can also put the paint effects panel into shaded refresh and then edit the created brush node. It helps for speed if the paint effects panel is smaller.
To understand the parameters it is good to play with them, although I would recommend skimming though the maya paint effects documentation, which is pretty comprehensive.
Hope this helps.
