I am about to start rigging a fish character and am thinking about using a flash interface for all the controls. I have played around with using flash in maya and it seems to work well. I see some great opportunities to make controls intuitive and easy to understand with this, but I have seen very few interfaces like this. Has anyone done this before? What are the strengths and weaknesses of such an approach?

Also some controls I have in mind are inherently 3d and wouldn't translate well into a 2d flash window, would it be too confusing to have flash controls and more standard control curves (using nurbs curves)?

Can you be more specific please. What exactly do you refer to with flash.

Thanks for replying. I am currently leaning away from the flash approach, and will probably just go with a normal maya gui. But to explain further, Maya has the ability to open a browser. It can be used to communicate with maya by executing mel commands within the browser. Using this you could make a control interface with html, javascript, flash, etc. So why would I do this? Just looking for ways to make the controls as intuitive to use as possible. For example having better feedback when the animator is changing attributes so it is more of an interactive process instead of just changing a number in the channels box.

just re-read your question. I guess you were asking what I meant by flash? Haha, sorry that was unclear. Flash, as in Macromedia Flash, a program used for web developement.
