couch looks somewhat stiff, I would put a crease or two maybe, something with more life to it. I know its a modern style sofa but still seems "uncomphy"

you are right in the bump map, i tried it but the change isn´t visible, i will play a bit later with it.
what do you think i have do with the carpet? usually they are flat :D, i will try to add some displacement and watch the result anyway.
The table, any work? it sucks because it hasn´t any material, i will add some soft speculars in the next render
Many thanks for all :D
by the way how did you come about to create the nice soft texture on the couch? i want one for mine in my post over here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=347967#post347967) ... any tips/tricks?
thanks

uhm.. the texture in the couch... was really hard... just joking, only a single and plane color, as beigh, the light made the rest
hey thanks indigoo... what type of light is that? point or distant or something? also what settings? intensity etc
cuse
maybe the texture i can see on the couchis exhanced by the dithering or something then???

uhm, sorry, all the lights are area light ones, and the settings for the lights?, 14 subs for area light (avoid noise), the light (sun) is a point light (area light too), the rest of the params, depends for the escene..i hve made many test in that, and i have to adjust many parameters each time a change a light (primary boucnes multiplier and secondary too, black level... etc).

another update DAMM IT THE ARTIFACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://usuarios.tripod.es/felucos/renders/f00ck.jpg
:surprised :scream:
thats pretty much what i thought, just having a hard time lighting a room, never seems to get good results. Its always either, hard shadows and burnt walls, or too soft and dark.
thanks all the same.

First post on the boards :) to help a fellow vrayer
those odd artifacts will disappear if you reboot your pc.
Strange I know but the same thing happens to me now and again. A quick reboot and problem solved.

Looks to me like you have a bad map in there somwhere Try cropping your maps. The don't have to be smaller just click on the crop button in your material and will probably go away for good.
Don't use any raytraced materials with v-ray. It will also cause this problem.
Hope this helps.

jajajajajjaja dont worry about arnold, but that is not a personal project, and i cant use arnold at work
that just sounds like a lack of ram problem with restarting doesnt it?
maybe the OS cant give enough to the specific app¿

uhm no ram problem for sure, the escene only needs 400 mb, and now i have about 768, i noticed that when you have more than 1 area light in the escene, and one on them is double sided, the problem appears, so disable the double side param in the vraylight and it is fixed, i hope... :D
