View Full Version : 3 questions: UVs, trees and keyboard mapping:)

hi;

I have 3 questions:

1- How do I delete the UV mapping on the faces of a polygonal object that already has a UV projection applied to it? As of now, I resort to collapsing the faces of the object I don't want mapped...

2- I am trying to build trees in XSI... Is there a fractal tree builder plugin for XSI available? And how would one go about distributing the leaves on the branch surfaces? Lightwave users who are acquainted with the scatter plugin would know what I mean

2- I have been looking into remapping my keyboard so as to use the ALT key instead of s for 3D navigation in XSI... I have tried some keyboard remapping software but XSI does not recognize their re-configuration... Is there a way of getting this done or is it not possible in the first place?

thanx guys

No there isnt.

But if you are Maya user, there is a setting you might find interesting.

Transform>Tool Options opens the Tool Options PPG. Click on the Camera Tab to open the camera tool options. Under the Nav/Dolly section find the option for "Use Alternate Mouse Mapping". Check that box.

This is what it does.

The default S key in XSI is like this

LMB - Pan
MMB - Dolly/Zoom
RMB - Orbit

When you check the "Use Alternate Mouse Mapping" option the new S key works like this

LMB - Orbit
MMB - Pan
RMB - Dolly/Zoom

This "Use Alternate Mouse Mapping" option makes the S key function just like the ALT key in Maya 4.5
