Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum... I apologize in advance if I'm not.

I downloaded and played around with ArtRage2 and it looks pretty darn cool. Especially for only 20$.

Does anyone use this? It seems similar to Painter, just fewer features and much, much cheaper.

I use it for sketching/concepts. It is a great program for the price. If you don't have painter, I'd recommend getting it. Not up to the same level as Painter IX but it is still a very solid little program. I tend to use Painter IX for complex projects, and Art Rage 2 for 'faster' (ie sketching/concepts) projects as it is faster and more intuitive. I haven't had it crash, or clash with other programs on my computer. Personally I love it's simplicity (I get very frustrated with Painter IX at times), and the reference photos 'pin ups' is a great feature.

Apparently I was logged in with an old account (pantropy). I have a couple of pieces in my portfolio that are either partly or entirely done Art Rage 1.1 or 2.0.

Ah.. so some people do use it.

Yeah, I also have painter and sometimes find it a little frustrating. Maybe in time as I get more used to it that'll be less the case. I'm primarily a Photoshop user. ArtRage2 is just so simple and easy to jump into, and it' really great at producing a very painterly look. Assuming that's what you're after.

Those are some nice paintings michelleolivia. I can tell pretty easily which ones are done in ArtRage, they have a more painted look.
