Not sure how fimilar you guys are to Fist of the North Star (aka in Japan as Hokuto No Ken) but personally, I'm a big fan of the show. There is now a CG animation coming out for it and here is a little preview here:
Holy smoke, loved the movie, never watched the show though. Great find, thanks :)

As long as Jagi wanders around psychotically attempting to prevent his head from exploding, this version has my blessing.

The game is already out in Japan. I attended a tournament for Street Fighter and Hokuto No Ken was one of the games there. Sammy made it so the graphics are NICE!

Sweet...loved the film! They seem to have done an excellent job of modeling the characters to fit the style of the original anime.

It is nice to see that in a post apocaliptic future people still "juice up" to bulk up.
Thanks for the link

The movie is a classic, right up there with Akira imo. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

seems like it's going to be promising. I'll most definitely be following this.

is this CG going to be a remake of the old series, or a remake of the OVAs, or even better, an OVA / movie of its own?

Hehe, seeing this reminds me of the Hotaru no Ken punching arcade game... 6 pads, 3 on each side, punch them as fast as you can. One of the specials was to hit the pads 60 times in 30 seconds or something like that :D Loved that game... Too bad I've only seen it in Japan
Hooray for wikipedia and google! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighting_Mania

I think it looks absolutely awfull. The designs truly made my face crinch. I guess this is just not for me.

I think it looks pretty damn good. Captures the look perfectly, and there are some pretty good deformations considering how OTT their bulk is.
Looking forward to this. If only someone would remaster the original film and bring it out on DVD - classic!
Should be good seeing some exploding heads in CG
