Hey y´all, this is a little something something that I finished the day before christmas... just got back from India and thought I´d see what the "board people" think about it..? :)

I´d say it took about four days of effective work and maybe a day or so doodling around

Nice :applause:

just concerning the lightning in the scene above:
I'd say there's a slight lack of contrast. The mummy is about as bright as the wall behind it. Maybe you could just lower the amount of radiosity on the wall, so that the char would appear more clearly visible before it.

I find it Great!
The character is very original, very different of what we usually see as a mummy.
The scene is very good too but I agree with Stratobrain. A little bit more of contrast could help the scene to get more volume!
Very good job!
Congratulations
Heber

I think the Lighting is cool, the stairs are a bit shiny, they are a few thousand years old;)
but I really like the mummy and the walltextures

stratobrain: thanks dude..! Well... there´s no radiosity in here actually, it´s all good ol´ fashioned (spelling..?) lighting and scanline... :)

heber g conde: well thank´s a bunch..! :D

the_real_cabal: thank´s..!

dreamweave: thank you... must admit that I´m kinnda satisfied with the lighting meself too... :)

and here we go, I´ve darkened the bounce lights on the walls somewhat... just slightly... but anyhoo´, here it is... ta-daaa... :p

I liked the first one more. The dark one is all depressing, it kind of brings tears to my eyes. Perhaps you should add a cape to the mummy. just kidding, hehe. I know Im just a big joker. but uhm, Iunno, Im not much for adive but I can tell you what I prefer. the contrasting elements are great, but in order to get the second images contrast most of the image needs to be dark. Oh well, good job, hehe. I'll check again later to see if you change things. I really like the mummy

Really nice  ...but i think you added to much blur. cant see the details. :hmm:

The contrast works very well for my eyes now

There's one more thing I realise: Those white spots* should be visible only inside the cone of the light coming from outside I think. (only there they get enough light to reflect)

kebabflott: what you call blur looks like compression artefacts to me (?), and the file size is rather small indeed, so we'd need a pic with a lower compression rate here

Otherwise: great mood you get in this picture!! :bounce:

*how do you call them?? My sick mind doesn't produce anything more useful than"particles of dust floating in the air" :hmm:

kebabflott: tackar..!

stratobrain: well, I´m glad to hear that..! :) Eumh... yes, probably... but I think I´ll let it pass for this one though... but I´ll keep that in mind ´till the next time I´m gonna have something like that floating around :D and no, I don´t know what else to call them either... dust particles maybe..? ah well... :p

the_real_cabal: well well, niiice then..! :D

ooh... my first post with a bunch o´ stars attached to it :bounce:

my imagination says that it would get even more creepier, if the mummy would be missing some bodyparts (for example - left foot or smthng) and be standing in a little bit awkward position. Right now it has such a soldier look. But the image and the concept is great, haven't seen anything like this done in 3d before.

mihkeltt: mm... yes that would have been a nice touch to it. I think I´ll do another more degenerated mummy some day, and then I´ll tear him up rather badly for sure. This was a fairly quick piece though. And ooh, that was a really nice comment... thanks..! :D
