View Full Version : Extreme Newbie Work
Uzi[WNCT] 03-13-2002, 01:11 AM I made a 3D image of the 2D work of Ed Lee "Servo Suit". I've allready sent a PM to him, and he have see previous (more ugly ;)) images.
Because i'm not a professional, it doesn't look so good, but can you give me some hints?
It's a WIP and with no material: only a bit of reflection and smoothing to the default LW material.

and the wireframe with the ENORMOUS polycount (i don't know how to lower this...) :(

PS: please don't be too strong! :D

The original design of the "Servo suit" is in the "2D artwork" section in this forum! See it..... it's fantastic! :)

mmhhh...i don't work with LW, but try to model with less polys...less are easier to handle with if you want to change something or animate it...looks pretty nice so far ...keep us updated:)

man i think it looks pretty good so far. I know exactly what picture of Edl's that it is...Keep up the good work....and like schmu_20mol said try and lower the overall poly count and it will be much easier to work with... or unless you are working with subpatches then there is much less polys then we see in that wireframe...under properties of the object in layout you can change the subpatch level down to say 1 or 2 in view and like 3 or 4 in render and it will be easier to move around.....in modeler the only way to make it easier on yourself is lower poly or even cutting of pieces of your model and working on those at one time.

Wow! Thanks for the compliments! :D
When I have more time, i try your settings for the high polycount.
Anyway, all the mech in metanurbs: only some "parts" are normals.
Tnx a lot ^_^
(if i've made extreme language mistakes, excuse me, i'm very asleep! :p)
