View Full Version : 3Dsmax 5 Plugin Problem
SyDemon 01-16-2003, 01:37 PM I recently opened my plugin manager for max 5 realised that NO plugins were loaded! Its about 60% of them "unloaded" and 40% "deferred".
When I tried to load the unloaded ones manually, they stay "unloaded". When I tried to load the "deferred" ones, they become "unloaded" and stay that way when I tried to load them again.
Does anyone know what's wrong?:annoyed:

I suggest asking the discreet forum or your reseller about this one. Seems a bit odd to me.:hmm:

Ok, I've updated my max 5 to 5.1, it says on the readme that when the plugin is loaded, its supposed to show "unloaded" on the plugin manager.
I did not mention earlier that I installed the free version of V-ray and tried to get it working. It's stated as "unloaded" in the plugin manager for V-ray, so according to the readme its supposed to be loaded.
I could select V-ray renderer on my render dialog, but when I tried to render a sphere max simply crashes, showing a grey patch of unrefreshed window area where the rendered image window is supposed to be.
I did check the help for the V-ray and came across these words:
[MAXROOT]\VRay40.dll
[MAXROOT]\plugins\VRender40.dll
[MAXROOT]\plugins\VRayNet40.dlu
[MAXROOT]\VRSpawnServer.exe
[MAXROOT]\vraydummy.max
where [MAXROOT] is your Max root directory. The 'plugins' directory can be any of the plugins directory included in your standard max plugins.ini file.
Note:The Basic package installation does not include VRSpawnServer.exe, vraydummy.max and VRayNet40.dlu
The files listed are supposed to be the files that must exist, but the files that I have after installing V-ray doesn't match the mentioned files at all.
The installer I downloaded is from www.vrayrender.com
I would appreciated it greatly if anyone would help me out on this, thank you.
