1) set your pane to wireframe mode

2) choose Window > Playblast from the menu.

if you have adobe premiere or something like that you can just bring in your playblast and export as targas....

OK, so what you want is a wireframe render with a correct alpha channel... that's a bit more tricky.

Unless someone out there has a wireframe render shader (which might well exist on highend3d.com, but I'm not sure where else) you COULD try doing something like this:

1) Playblast to TIFF w/ no alpha in wireframe mode. (Gotta make sure the resolution is right!)

2) Render a pass to TGA with default materials.

3) Use your favorite compositing software to pull the alpha from the TGA image and the color from the TIFF.

I've never actually tried to do this before so I'm just cooking up whatever ideas I have...

No, no people i wanna render directly into tga, like in Max you can put material and click on button that says wire and then render. Is there a plugin or something else???
:annoyed: :annoyed:

Look at this page:

http://www.highend3d.com/maya/plugins/?group=mayaplugins&section=rendering

The wireData plug in at the bottom is what you want.

Maya doesn't have a "make all wireframe" like max.

The whole playblast thing just wont get you the results you are looking for.

The Wireframe plugin will work. but maya HAS a way to do this with the basic package.

go to windows>rendering editors>hardware render buffer.

on the Hardware render buffer window go to Render>attributes and then under render modes change the draw style from smooth shaded to wireframe.(all objects will have a dark blue wireframe unless you changed their display properties)

That will allow you to render wireframes to Targas with alpha channel.

Read the docs on how to use the hardware render buffer

I hope that helped

Don't forget to take a look at this!

http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24553

Will be available at Highend 3D also...
I'm currently working on its documentation.

In Maya Unlimited you.

1. Playblast the wireframe using "F CHECK"

2. In the F CHeck window you have a tool bar at the top that lets you save an image or animation sequance.

You can choose to save the image files as Targa or whatever you want it to be.....And remember to have a folder ready for the wireframe images. And remember, F Check isn't only a viewer, But it's also a handy tool for converting images into a different kind of image file

This Image i enclosed is compressed (of coarse) And when you make the sequance into a self contained movies, It may look a little odd..But when you finalize it into a video..It's Digitally fresh.

Well maybe this link might be of help
http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/tutorials/transparency_shadows/trans_shadow.html

I use this technique whenever I need to do such things as wireframe presentations which does not require acuracy in span position and the likes.
However this plugin from Martin "Provide" seems to be very promissing and it offers precise acuracy in the position and display of the wireframes.

I'm quite amazed by the results obtained by your celShader and wireData plugins, Congrats Martin! Probably will be the best nurbsWireframe utility out there if not the only one!
