Last Chance – SIGGRAPH’s 2005 Electronic Theater

Are you interested in seeing the best computer animation of 2005? Are
you new to SIGGRAPH and our local DC_SIGGRAPH chapter? Are you
wondering what the Electronic Theater is? DC_SIGGRAPH will be presenting a
last chance showing of the 2005 Electronic Theater from this past
SIGGRAPH Conference. The SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater showcases some of the
most dazzling and innovative collections of work selected by
distinguished jury of computer graphics experts and specialists.

If you want to see some great animation, find out more about SIGGRAPH
and what we are about, and meet with local professionals and students
who share a common interest in computing graphics, then this event is for
you! Please join DC_SIGGRAPH on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm.

This event will be held at BAE systems. BAE is located at 8201

How come we don't add this stuff in the community calendar of events for these types of meetings? A thread in the news section might get bumped before the day is through but a community calendar is readily available and provides event information for future and historical searches. You just need to get people used to looking at the calendar.

Now I know it's tempting to add a chili cook-off to the calendar but I think they should be restricted to CG or CG related industries such as that presentation by Ray Harryhausen, or a CGS Chapter meeting, or a SIGGRAPH Chapter Meeting (such as DC or LA), or the SIGGRAPH meeting.

Anyway, I went ahead and added the DC SIGGRAPH meeting to the community calendar. I hope everyone can see it.
