I've seen the movie around february this year, its pretty cool, well, very cool, personaly dont like mocap stuff, but still. I've seen the french version, understood like 5 % of the dialogue, then saw some parts of the english one and the english one seemed cheesy since the voice acting was not convincing in any way.

Worth watching for sure.

yes it's a good movie, it feels like a good comic book.

Yes the traditions of Moebius and other great French sci fi artists comes across in this work.
I like this trend in French CG, where the CG has a definite artistic quality to it, as opposed to being purely photoreal CG. A more sophisticated version of the cartoony CG style seen in the U.S.

That looks really nice, any idea when/wether it'll be shown in the UK or available on DVD?

When I spent a bit of time in Paris recently, I was amazed at the status comic books/graphic novels enjoy in France. If you walk up from the lower end of the Bvd St. Germain to the Bvd St Michel there are about 8 shops selling comic books, all with a huge selection and packed with people browsing and buying them. Then you seem to have three big magazines devoted to the comic book industry and they feature artists like Enki Bilal as if they were rock stars.

I saw it at Annecy Festival and I was very impressed by the overall look of the movie that has this such particular mood, not just a "sin city" copy.
Anyway it has also a very good direction e technical merits, I'd suggest it to everyone, I hope this movie will have the chance to take great results as it deserves, not only in France.

By the way, Ben Bardou posted some of his work for RENAISSANCE at mattepainting.org - with some info on how they did the black & white look:
