Hello! I am putting together my reel, but some of my shots are 24 fps and a few others at 30 fps, what's the best way to solve this problem? I know I have to edit all of my shots at the same fps otherwise some of them will either miss a frame every x frames or they will speeded up. What's the best software to do it? does premiere do this and if so how? I just want to use all of my shots at the same fps because if I don't some of them will look weird. Hope someone can help, thanks.

Donīt worry, pulldown and pulldown removals are usually automatic so you can use different frame rates (NTSC, PAL or 24) without a problem, as I said before most of the time it is automatic, but you can right click over the footage and go to Interpret Footage, you can check if it has the right frame rate, or make premiere understand that it is working with a different frame rate.

You shouldnīt have any problems with video going faster/slower than normal. Only thing I would recommend is using non drop frame specially for a reel that is staying in DVD or computer file.

There is Drop Frame and Non Drop Frame time codes, you have to choose which one suites the best to you depending on what you are going for. For most broadcasting (TV) uses the time code used is Drop Frame, which removes a frame every 10 minutes, which which solves some problems with the transmission of NTSC 29.97 vs 30fps video that would give sync issues and overrall the programs during less than expected (a 30 min program could have a duration of 1 and a half minutes less if this wasnīt done). It was an earlier solution to a problem with black and white and color tvīs but continues as a standard.

Non Drop Frame time code works better for cinema and progressive video because as itīs name states it keeps every frame without dropping any, for example in a Telecine it is necessary to keep a Non Drop Frame time code if you wanīt to remove the pulldown later and keep a burned in time code that works.

For the frame rates as I stated before go to your footage bin in premiere, select the footage you already imported with the right click button and check interpret footage, the rest is quite easy to get.

Hope this helps.

yes my only problem is the frame rate, I have tried in premier to change the interpet footage, if I right click on each sequence which is 24 and I make it interpret as 30 fps, then when I export the whole video at 30 fps there are no missing frame but those sequences which where at 24 fps are speeded up a lot, because they where done in 24 fps but now in one second it plays 30 frames so it's faster than it should be. I tried to compensate this changing the speed of the sequence right clicking on it in the timeline and change the speed, but the quality is really bad. Any solution? thank you again!
