View Full Version : Blender composite nodes (OT)
Nichod 07-04-2006, 12:42 PM Just thought this was pretty slick. And worth a looksie. Something Messiah needs;) Makes me wish Messiah was opensource it could jump by leaps and bounds into a killer app if things were controlled correctly of course. Anyway...the images...

Wow, that's blender?! It's been a while since I've messed with it. A nodal-based compositor built into Blender - impressive. Hauntingly beautiful image as well.
EDIT: Hmmm ... I'm already thinking how the blood might benefit from a little TLHPro absorption. :)

I haven't looked at blender either in quite some time. That looks like a book cover illustration or something. Totally sick - the way those nodes are arranged with their slick splines curving out the back and in the front.

yeah blender grows more and more impressive!
The shading now also has nodes!
If only the general interface wouldn't be as weird ;)
The big ones need warm underwear if the development continues like that!
BTW. I think Blender actually has absorption now in 2.42? - but blood is mostly translucent, not transparent (very diffuse transparency that is), so SSS would do a better job maybe.
Very cool image BTW.
My all time favorite from their gallery is still that chicken chair:

But this style is also cool:

If only the day had more hours.... ;-)

Very nice ...
Thomas, I was thinking of using absorption to this effect rendered in modo:

Yeah, one of my favorites from our former messiah comrade...
It is possible to use absorbance, but the blood I've seen so far was less transparent but more opaque. EasyGlass should work like this, but I would rather use SSS, if the blood isn't extremely thin.
Cheers!
