This was a sketch drawing by Hyung Tae-Kim that I decided to colour. Not quite done with the sword. I like some of the details I have in there, but I feel like it doesn't hold together well when I step back from it. I was wondering if another eye might pick out something I'm missing.

You could have made it a bit sweeter - right now it looks quite vulgar ....

Is this her best side? :D But seriously....it might not hang together because all the colors are isolated. Colors reflect off of one another. The sword would reflect the dark blue of her outfit, the peach of her skin. Right now, it doesn't exactly look like a sword. There's no shine. No reflection. Same with the white parts of her outfit and her skin.

Her body could use a bit more dramatic highlighting, too. And if you use a pale version of your background color, it might help tie things up.

I just think you might need to push the details to the next level...be a little more adventurous! It's digital...it can all me undone!

Alright, thanks! That's helps a lot. As for trying to make it sweet, I see what you're saying, I don't think he drew that to make it sweet and pushing it in that direction, I can only see how that might even create an adverse effect.
