View Full Version : Absymmesh Script
K_Digital 07-02-2006, 10:40 PM I found the directions on how to use it, but how do you even get to the absymmesh window to flip, mirror shapes etc? I thought it would be similar to the MJ polytools script. I just drop that one in the script folder and when I start Maya I have a Mjpolytools menu. I'm slow when it comes to mel scripting. Someone please help.

haha I got it. At first I copied this "Absymmesh v1.1.1" in the script editor and then save it to a shelf, and it didn't work. So I copied just "Absymmesh" and saved it to the shelf and it worked, I see the ui. thanks a lot.

I've ran into yet another problem with this script. When I hit the select base mesh button it tells me "base mesh is not symmetrical." So I delete one half and then mirror the geometry. And guess what, it says it's still not symmetrical. Is this script this really this buggy. When I try the script with a simple cube everything works fine. What could be wrong with my mesh?

hi,
this script is a great script !! n one thing u need to take care is, everytime ur base mesh is new or u do some modification to it... u have to close the script using the close button and then restart the script...
but other than this, it works great !! and in there u have check symmetry... this shud scan n select any assymetric verties... then u will know where n which r the assymetric verts...
