View Full Version : Selecting Overlapping Polygons Solution?
LouisBrowne 07-01-2006, 09:17 PM I always seem to end up duplicating my geometry, over it's self. And it becomes a pain trying to select the dupilcate without selecting the original. Anyone know a quick & easy way of selecting just 1 of 2 overlapping polygons?
Thanks

As far as I know!
from within Lightwave modeller you can use the ""info tab" to deselect overlapping polys, from Modo you can try to use instances ;)

Merge the vertices then select polygon>reduce>unify to remove the doubled up polygons.

Thanks guys, unify seems to work a treat.
I also found that right clicking on a polygon seems to only select 1 of the overlapping polygons too, although it also brings up the menu display.

polygon seems to only select 1 of the overlapping polygons too, although it also brings up the menu display.
You can also assign a different material (before copying and paste )and use the statistic tab to deselect only one overlappping polygon:)
