wonder if anyone can help.

when i render an image, then save it, it looks alot darker when i open the saved file than in the virtual frame buffer window thing. i'm using brazil and its a bit confusing. does the same with video too.

this pic explains better:

it's not actually 3dsmaxs fault, it's your color preference inside photoshop that not match your monitor! ;) You could setup the colors manually in photoshop with a reference pic outside photoshop and then open it up inside photoshop. And then fine correct the color preference.

Cute render though, me like! ;)

Heya,

Or you may have display Gamma enabled in 3ds max.

Either way, though, application-specific color calibration and gamma controls (both for display) are truely evil.

Color calibration, gamma, etc. should all happen at the vidcard driver level (if not at the monitor level), otherwise you're messing with a plethora of different applications' specific settings.

The idea is that Person A's color profile gets converted to Person B's color profile, and the images should show up pretty much the same, regardless of display card (bitdepth has to be the same, obviously), monitor, platform (PC/mac/sgi), etc.

Anyway, I go off-topic :x
