Not much to say about this one, besides that i feel sorry for him. There is one thing that catches my eye. The line between nose and upper lip. Cant find the English word for it. Well it looks a little bit sharp. It could be a good idea to smoothen that up a bit.

ah, thanks for your comments.... i havent actually stitched the two halves together hence the crease up the middle.
why do you feel sorry for him? he is a superior being capable of running the 100metres in under 8seconds :D

I have to say that I have no real crits for the face, but I can't wait to see the finished product. :)
I like the blank expression on his face, sorta comes across quite different.

Kruga,
Good job so far! Even though I think you put those goggles on to avoid modeling the eyes and nose, it looks great :) You’re the artist and you can do whatever you want. Some comments on the model though. The nasolabial furrow (as it is called so fancily), running from the edge of the nose to the edge of the mouth, needs some more work. You may have to rearrange the patches (or whatever you are using) to make that furrow run more smoothly from the nose to the mouth. Also, the strap running from goggle up over the head has some sharp edges. Likewise the strap going around the shin.
Keep us posted, it looks good so far! Maybe you can tell us what you'll be using this character for?!

well, someones been slack... heres an update after too long.
recieved a few complaints about the nose peice so i have removed it. what do you think? better or worse?
still some tweaks to do on the nose and face... i will continue with the texturing... i've only done half the texture of the top leather strap.

First off,
I love the style (but you know that). Reminds me a little of 12 monkeys or those TV-eye-people from Flash Gordon.
As for the nosepiece - bring it back. It adds so much weirdness to him. Right now he's just an ugly guy with googles.
The nosepiece sorta makes it look like there's some hidden functionality that we simple viewers don't know about.

after much procrastination an aborted side project and numerous visits to cgtalk and too much chatting on #cgtalk... i finally managed to make most of a body in the most beautiful Wings3D

i best reply to questions....
rukuwa: i guess he's supposed to be middle aged.. 30 something.
sherban: cheers, the nose piece is back
hellrender: modelled the head and head gear in Maya and the body in wings
dividebyzero: i am planning on animating him... just something simple 15-30secs worth.

Loving it more and more! The proportions are really nice, and fell into my taste. And finally a model with a pe*** :)
Very very nice.
Is he gonna have big feet like those u got there?
He would also be very nice with white socks, and a grandpa underwear :D

This model looks really good.
The head, the neck and the shoulders are well modeled.
Keep it up

You should atleast add subtle bone strutures in side the hand/flipper/thing.
The legs have significantly less detail than the upper body.
I dig the heck out of this! Good show

Michael: the feet will be similar in size... it might change... socks could be a goer though... no underwear tho.
adrian: the hands and feet are just volumed out, havent added muslces, bones etc... but i will do that next if i can get my head into it. I'm not sure what more detail i should add to the legs... had the same problem with my last model. I dont want him to be too muscley.
flamedevil: thansk!

Great character with a very clean, efficient mesh structure. His chest, neck, and shoulder area is modelled perfectly. :buttrock:

Very clean geometry. The nose piece is genious! I really like the style and this character is turning out great.

Also it is looking good upper body wise but i would work on the hands and feet. I would try to stay away from going to over stylized with them. One thing to is you rely need to start modeling in bind pose. I see this every single day where people aren¡¦t modeling there characters in the correct position and its a big NO NO ƒº. Also maybe a circumcision is needed? Possibly another strap for his little ticker.
