I will have a beta of this map on friday I think.
The sky looks overbright on screenshots but in the real deal it looks much less bright.

Wow, some very nice design work.
Especially the roof and the trim.
Has a very unique look and atmosphere.
Only crits is the last pic.
The walltexture next to the lights looks
like a blurry photosource.

Thanks :)
that texture has to be fixed up. It is a photo source but I did not put enough time on that one texture like I did the others it can be so much better and lot less bumpy. Most of the textures here are photo sourced but edited heavily.

The modelling and UVing are very good indeed....but...
It just seams a little...dis-conected, there is no controling theme or style, just a group of objects hoping to make a scene but ending up just looking a little odd. To me nothing really in the shots looks to have a purpose...why is that tiled grey section just in the middle of a grass patch, why is such an ornate and superb fountain shoved up against a wall in a small little alcove...most elements of your level can be looked at in this way...why are there little blue lights just flickering around...and so on...
It all just seams a little un co-ordinated.
Superb modelling though...top notch indeed :)

i think i have to agree with the above, its very well made but the actual theme and level don't seem to run well
I agree 100% with what you all said. But this is an unreal map played for killing and does not make sense. Many unreal maps make no sense. I am not trying to make a realims map or something that would make sense. I am making a cool arena to kill and capture flags. Something that fits this game. It is a meshing of many styles put in one and I will not even try to explain it lol. Everything said is 100% correct it makes no sense what so ever.

Looks great RO, only thing I see is that's maybe a little tight for a DM map, any chance we can see some action shots, hard to put it in perspective without the size of the players. Cheers :)

I disagree with what was say earlier
It just seams a little...dis-conected, there is no controling theme or style, just a group of objects hoping to make a scene but ending up just looking a little odd. I like the beetle juice feel of the level
which is a theme/ style of an unreal world
just my thoughts
other then that texture mentioned no other cc
would love to gun sling in it:thumbsup:

I remember the roof of this being posted some while back. Gone in quite a different way than I'd imagined it would, which is pretty cool.
Some nice touches and design ideas. I like the metal Earth and the spherical fountain.
I do have to agree that the last pic doesn't have many (if any) continuing themes or references to the architecture or style of the building's exterior shown in the first three. It could well be an entirely different map.

i love the mashed up junk/pre1950s on the moon stylee.
id love to see it in action, cos screenies are a bit confusing
it would be cool with an almost seaside soundtrack
i think it needs more brothel

Damn i havent been here for a while....i remember when u started this ages ago, it looks good, the style does seem a little chaotic in parts, but still, good work.

great work RO!
I got a question - do u make a preliminary sketch of ur map or u just model it and tweak afterwards as it comes out ?
Thanks Deryk
In this case I did not draw out anything concept wise, just had a few ideas I wanted to do and made this map. Though I do get a lot inspiration from arcitecture in general and other games like gears and hl.
This map is still in the works. The thing that is delaying it is a bug that on some computers it plays perfect and on some it plays below 1 fps. So I am looking how to solve this problem. First time I have ever encountered a problem like this in ued. :| Once I am done ill update it here with a link.

It's amazing how good unreal 2 looks when someone knows what they're doing. It's amazing and the graphics look better than most current engines. Fantastic work and design, i love it!
