Hello, i'm currently asking myself how to make a simular effect like this:
http://www.peterclaes.be/animations...ation_small.wmv (http://www.peterclaes.be/animations/2005/microscopic/microscopic_invitation_small.wmv)

i've already created a nurbssphere and added a microscope shading network to it, but now i'm wondering how to create the displacements on the surface... it's like there the sphere is deforming, or at least the surface...

could you guys think of a way to create this....
here's what I got so far:

I guess the easiest way is to use an animated noise map as a displacement map.

yea, i think an animated noise is the way, and you can also animate the noise gizmo going from down left to upper right, so you wil get this effect as it is in water and the noisewaves go upwards.
