View Full Version : Rendering: Smooth Proxy
I am trying to get some renders of
this head im modeling. The thing is,
when it renders it renders the low
res and high res of the smooth proxy.
*Sorry about the crappy render, it was saved
out as jpg in maya and, well you know the
quality*

disable either the low res or high res "layer" at the bottom right and it should render right

Is there a way to map the textures on the low poly and then transfer it to the high resolution proxy mesh?
I tried to use the Transfer command for the u.v but it didnt work.

you shouldnt need to... if your high res model is based off your low res mesh then it should hold all the correct uv information.
i guess you could duplicate your low res mesh, smooth it, then transfer the uvs to the high res proxy mesh.
transferring UV's will only work if the two models are exactly the same in the number of vertices.
