I am working on this model for my demo reel. She has not been posed yet, and i'm still tweeking the modeling aspect of it. Please give your honest opinion of this piece, and i hope that it's good enough for your critiques.

Hi its starting to look nice I like the futuristic stlye of armour...Its hard to comment on her anatomy as its hard to see through all that armour but I can see her head looks a little out of shape, can we see it from another angle maybe? it looks like her face is flat and the back of her head is a little out of shape but like I say its hard to see from this angle. Also her hips look a little to long maybe compress them vertically a little..Keep going I can see this being a good model with a little more work.

Could you post a render without the blue filler light? Its hard to tell without the dark shadows.

here's another view of her face/head/upper torso. I'm guessing that the armor doesn't corrospond to the anatomy..

Thanks Sully. I'll fix it right away.

The armor is suppose to fit the anatomy for the most part. But if it looks like it's clutering the model without detail... and speaking of detailing, do any of you have any advice on detailing armor and the like? I've only been modeling for a year (as in, actually had knoledge of knowing how to make stuff in a 3d program) so i do lack approach to in depth detailing.

I like the concept you're shooting towards, but you're falling short in a few areas. You've got the geometry roughly doing what you want it to do. However, I think you need to control it a little better. Control the curves that each individual piece of plate armor is following. Examine each piece from different angles, and make sure it looks smooth from each one. Also, it might help if you differ the thicknesses of each piece. They don't all need to have the exact same value on the shell modifier. If you are using 3ds max, then I'd consider building the armor from surface tools. The hair is another issue. I'm not sure how you are planning to texture, but it looks like you have a meshsmooth on each piece of geometry. That would be a bad idea. On the whole, you've got a great concept. It shouldn't be to hard to turn this piece professional. Good work!

I'll see if i can look for a hair modifier plugin. Orginally i was texturing it using opacity maps on the strands of geometry repensenting the hair. But i've ran into a problem with the opacity map not working entirely. I'll try different methods with the hair.

here's a render of her back. Are there any problems on this side?

In the beginnning the concept looks cool because it's a bit hard to see since everythin is clay.

But here are some points

-hands are too thin and not anatomicly correct enough

- the idea of the details in the clothing is cool but it could be a bit more stylisher.
some parts are a bit lumpy in my opinion

-maybe there is something weard about the ass but can't really see it well.

Furthermor keep up the work dude

Ok, here's an update. I've posed the model and gave her a weapon. I'm still tweeking the hands, but for the most part, done with the modeling aspect of it. This piece is six days in the making. I've started posting it on day four of this piece.

I'll show closeups of pieces, and let you rip it apart.

Ok, i'm tweeking abit on the modeling/hair mod side. I'll bevel the edges of the pieces of armor before i'm done with this one.

Hey guys, i need your opinion on which version looks better. Depending on the responce, i may take the model in a totally different direction, or i may keep going the direction it is.

Here are the two images:
