View Full Version : Needed comments on my head model
stylize 06-27-2006, 12:08 AM Hi there.. I have been working with this model with quite some time. Hopefully can get some critics and comments from you guys. My aim is to create a realistic model but somehow i just feel it isn't there yet. Could you guys help me out? Thanks

It's coming along so far, but in my opinion...the jaw line feels a little too sharp right now. I'd try to soften that so you have a smoother transition. Also, the neck looks too thin....I'd thicken it up a little. Improving the way the ears are attached to the head would help out tremendously, smooth out that harsh crease between the ear and jawline and that should fix that. Also, I'd add some hard edges around the areas of where the skull protrudes to make those features pop out a little more. And maybe make use of the edge loops around the eyes to give the eyelids more definition...Other then that, I cant see anything else as of right now....good work though, keep it up man:thumbsup:

Thanks NyneDown. Yeah, I have lots of headache of how the ear should be attached. Will fix the jaw line and eyelid as you have said :)
Anybody have comments on my topology? Is my edgeloops placed correctly? How about the textures. Kinda plain huh? Will spend more time to make it unsymmetrical hehe...

Hi, the model looks pretty good as it is right now. The zbrushing also looks nice. He does look a little cross-eyes at the moment though haha... Do be careful with the side brow area also.
Nice work so far!
Cheers

Wow man I'm really liking the zbrushing right now! Is that a max/maya render or is it zbrush? Looks really good!
Haha and thanks for the compliments as well.

haha.. its ok my friend.. i didnt like the 1st head either. The anatomy is weird. I did quite a lot of changes to it before i bring into zbrush for sculpting. The eyebrows and moustache bugs me still  so probably i will do some tweaks on that before texturing :)
Thanks for the critics and comments, overcontrast. :)

I hope you guys can help me on this..

I'm using FinalRender Stage-1 SP3 to render this guy. I'm trying to use Max's Hair on him and I found Anti-Aliasing problem although the oversampling is at maximum.
I'm using FR-advance material. I suspect its the material problem because I have no AA problem rendering with standard material.
Thanks in advance
